Families provide three meals daily (breakfast, packed lunch, and dinner) and are responsible for morning and evening transport to school. Should any issues arise between a student and their homestay family,TDSB operates a 24-hour emergency hotline, and Sky Lantern can provide Chinese-language coordination support in the Taiwan and Hong Kong time zones.

The only extras to budget for are personal spending money (approx. CAD $50–100/week) and international flights to and from Canada.
TDSB Summer Camp welcomes students of all English levels. The programme focuses on leadership and communication skills, not pure language learning. Students are assessed on arrival and teachers adjust pace and complexity based on the class. We recommenda basic communicative English level is recommended (able to understand simple instructions and hold basic conversations) to ensure your child can fully participate in class activities and social interactions.
Yes, the TDSB International Summer Camp is a fixed 3-week programme (6–24 July), and no 1- or 2-week short options are available. The programme is built around three progressive themed weeks, and completing all three is essential for the best learning outoutcomes. Families who prefer flexible durations may wish to consider Tamwood Camps (2–4 weeks available) or Richmond SD Summer Camps (2–6 weeks available). Sky Lantern can help you compare all options.
