Tamwood provides 24/7 security staff at university campuses, with access-controlled entry systems in all dormitories. Each counsellor is responsible for no more than 8 students and lives on the same floor. The campus health centre operates round the clock and can provide immediate medical support in emergencies. Sky Lantern consultants remain available during Taiwan and Hong Kong time zones — parents can contact us at any time to check on their child.
Absolutely. Tamwood uses an English ability assessment on arrival, with level-based class placement from beginner to advanced. An immersive environment is the most effective way to learn English — most students show significant improvement in spoken English within 2–4 weeks. Counsellors are also trained to help beginners settle in using simple English.
Students stay in official university dormitories at UBC, SFU, UTM or UTSG, typically in double or triple rooms shared with students from different countries. Dormitories have shared bathrooms, laundry facilities and common lounge areas. Counsellors live on the same floor to ensure student safety and discipline. All three meals are taken in the university cafeteria with a choice of Asian and Western cuisine.
Yes. Parents can choose Vancouver or Toronto, or arrange for the child to spend 2 weeks in each city to experience the different character of Canada's east and west coasts. Sky Lantern can help plan cross-city itineraries, including domestic flight arrangements and transfer coordination between the two cities.
The application process is very simple: ① Fill in our free consultation form or contact us directly via WhatsApp; ② Sky Lantern consultant replies within 24 hours to confirm the child's age, level and preferred city; ③ We submit the application to Tamwood on your behalf and follow through; ④ After admission is confirmed, we assist with visa, flights and pre-departure preparation. Full Chinese-language service throughout — parents need not communicate directly with overseas institutions.
